Job Description

• The NP will be responsible for procedures including bone marrow aspiration/biopsies, intrathecal chemotherapy administration, and the max number of patients for a Nurse practitioner is eight (8) patients which include elective chemotherapy and simple consults.
• There are overflow of 10 patients currently that fall upon the fellow
• The Nurse Practitioner will be thought by the attending and the fellow regarding hematology consult, seeing patients, writing notes, performing procedures and writing chemotherapy, schedule appointments for patients who need to be discharged.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
• Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and
• Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  
  

Department Preferences

Two clinical years experience as an Oncology or Acute Nurse Practitioner preferred.
