Description

Summary:

Provides medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician. Coordinates the clinical and administrative activities related to the office to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients to provide expeditious, high quality, customer focused care.
• Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and prescribes medical therapeutics as required to evaluate the state of the patient's medical condition.
• Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriateness of the therapeutic treatment plan.
• Consults with supervising physicians in accordance with the practice's policies and medical standards to assure standards of medical care and patient satisfaction.
• Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart and signs the record.
• Instructs the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention.
• Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits.
• Performs total quality improvement processes and initiatives to achieve the Practice's mission.
• Responsible for following departmental policies and procedures to assure service with proper risk management.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
